SPC Tops Manatee

The Lady Lancers from Manatee CC came to ST. Pete Thursday for our second conference match. SPC won the contest in 3, 30-24, 30-22, 30-26. SPC is now 11 - 2 overall, 4 - 2 in conference, alone in third place in the Sunocast Conference.

SPC drops a match to South Florida

South Florida CC came to St. Pete Tuesday and dropped the Lady Titans in 4 games. SPC got off to a slow start and it cost us. SFCC played very well, kept hitting good shots and won the match in 4, 21-30, 22-30, 30-24, 28-30. SPC's record is now 10 - 2, 3 - 2 in Conference placing SPC in a tie for third with SFCC>

SPC Delivers Hillsborough Their First Loss

In an exciting 5 game match, SPC prevailed over HCC 30-10, 25-30, 30-23, 16-30, 15-13. The players of the game were Emily Calderon for HCC and Zuzana Čížová for SPC. SPC is now 10 - 1on the season and 3 - 1 in the Suncoast Conference.

SPC Drops a Game to Pasco

SPC played Pasco Hernando CC tonight at home and dropped their first game of the season to go 9 - 1. "We got off to a slow start in the first two games, then played them even the last two. Unfortunately, that amounts to too little too late." Kaylee Puster came up big adding 12 kills in her first real playing time since coming off a dislocated shoulder.

SPC goes to 9 - 0

The Lady Titans improved their season record to 9 - 0 with wins this weekend over Lake Sumter and Clearwater Christian. SPC dropped LSCC in straight sets, but lost the first two games to Clearwater Christian to come back in win in 5.

SPC tops Polk to go 7 - 0

The Lady's of SPC came together to top Polk CC in 4, 27-30, 30-26, 30-25, 30-23. The team came together to put together the win without our starting middle and libero. This forced many players to play new positions. Katie did a great job at Libero posting 31 digs and a 2.23 passing average. Lorena upped her offesnive output contributing 10 kills, 3 blocks, and 2 aces. Gena upped her play to record 8 kills adn 18 digs. The Czech connection once again came up big with Zuz conributing 21 kills, 2 aces, and 7.5 blocks. Hanka contributed 4 kills, 1 ace, and 7.5 blocks. Zuzka Cizova was nominated as the player of the game.

SPC is now 7 - 0, 2 - 0 in conference. This weekend we play at Clearwater Christian, 2 pm vs. SCC, 4 pmvs CCC.

The first NJCAA Women's Volleyball poll came out today and SPC is ranked 14th in the Nation with a perfect 6 - 0 record.

SPC wins over Manatee

In the conference opener, SPC was victorious over Mantaee 30 - 23 , 28 - 30 , 30 - 26 , 30 - 20. SPC was lead by Heloisa dos Santos with a gutsy effort in games 1, 3, and 4 despite an extremely sore ankle.

SPC Schedules Try-Outs for the 2008 Season

St. Petersburg College's Women's Volleyball team will hold try-outs for the 2008 season on Saturday, December 1st, from 9 - 11 a.m. in the Gymnasium on the Gibbs Campus, 6900 5th Avenue North, St. Petersburg Florida, 33710.

SPC wins over Florida College

Friday night SPC went to the always loud gym at Florida College in Temple terrace. With the crowd cheering for the home team, SPC went on to defeat Florida College in straight sets, 30-20, 30-26, 30-22. Lorena Gomez had one of her best games with 8 kills, 2 aces, and 3.5 blocks. The whole team stayed very focused thru the whole match. Great job ladies!

SPC wins over Lake Sumter

SPC played Lake Sumter CC in Leesburg Wednesday night and came away with a straight set win, 30-23, 30-18, 30-25. SPC was led by Zuzana Cizova with 15 kills and Heloisa dos Santos with 13 kills, 6 aces, and 6 blocks.
