SPC Tops Palm beach

In the second game of the tri-match, SPC topped Palm Beach Community College in 4 games. "We came out well and managed to creep up on Palm Beach point by point to win the first game. In the second game, Palm Beach got very hot serving and we did not keep up. Fortunately for us, their serving eased off some in the third and fourth games and we managed to prevail. Again, a good effort by the team and we played some good defense." The game ball was awarded to Katya Babkina for scoring in all facets of the game, serving, blocking, hitting, and setting.

On Monday, September 8 at 1:48 P.M., Miami-Dade’s volleyball coach informed SPC that Miami-Dade considered the match a scrimmage because Ave Marie University did not get a signed game contract from Miami-Dade. SPC considered the contest a regular season match and included it on their schedule. Miami-Dade was questioned by SPC before the match why it was not on their schedule, but they did not respond.

Miami-Dade pointed out that “no contract, no match” and the FCCAA agreed with this position.
